No tricks, no upsells. This is what we collect, why, and how to make us delete it.

Introduction

This policy explains what information Pick Me Pets collects when you use our website and services, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We aim to collect the minimum needed to connect you with a great breeder and a healthy puppy.


What we collect

  • Account information you give us: name, email, phone, mailing address.
  • Reservation information: the puppy you reserved, billing address, payment metadata.
  • Communications with breeders and our support team through Pick Me Pets.
  • Device and usage: IP address, browser, pages viewed, timestamps. Used to keep the site fast and detect abuse.
  • Location if you tap "Near me" — your approximate state and ZIP, used only for that search and not stored against your account.

How we use it

  • Match you with breeders who can sell or ship to your area.
  • Process deposits and notify breeders of new reservations.
  • Send transactional emails (reservation confirmations, pickup details).
  • If you opt in: occasional newsletters and new-litter alerts. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • Investigate fraud and protect users.

Who we share with

We share your information with:

  • The breeder you reserved from: name, contact details, and shipping address — they need this to coordinate pickup.
  • Stripe: our payment processor. Card details are sent directly to Stripe and never touch our servers.
  • Service providers (email, analytics, customer support) under confidentiality agreements.
  • Authorities when required by law.

We do not sell your personal information.


Cookies

We use a small number of strictly-necessary cookies (session, CSRF) and an analytics cookie to understand site usage. You can refuse non-essential cookies in your browser settings without losing core functionality.


Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct it if it's wrong.
  • Delete your account and the data tied to it (subject to records we're required to keep for tax or legal reasons).
  • Object to marketing communications at any time.

How long we keep data

We keep account and reservation data for as long as your account is active and for up to seven years after, to comply with tax and consumer protection rules. Marketing data is deleted within 30 days of unsubscribing.


Security

We use HTTPS everywhere, encrypted databases, scoped API tokens, and least-privilege access controls. Payment information is handled by Stripe, a Level 1 PCI-DSS certified provider. No system is 100% secure — please use a strong unique password and notify us immediately if you suspect your account has been compromised.


Changes to this policy

We'll post material updates on this page and notify registered users by email. Continuing to use Pick Me Pets after a change means you accept the updated policy.
